Work it

Hard at work, or hardly working.  Sometimes I just don't know.

Remember the collar-obsessed posts from early this year?

Which resulted in this, this, and this.

I've decided to incorporate it into some recent work...a little crop top, golden glittered pockets, and a pair of denim flares.  Voila.

Even though we're STILL waiting for our belongings - it's been over 3 months living out of suitcases - I made sure I traveled with the necessities:

- markers (an invaluable gift from L...thank you) and all portfolio-related goodies

- a handful of items I've made on Sewchique

- and all my bikinis

It's amazing how easy it is to live life with just the basics!

Like? Like!

So I've been working on some bikini designs, thus the lack of posts.  Vix held a bikini design contest and I entered a few designs.  On June 1 they announced the finalists and I made it!!!

 

The first is my personal fave.  And also the finalist.  The *Inga*.  I am very creative with the names as you can see :)  The other two (names) are my sister and boyfriend!  I tried to keep to what the Vix girl would wear...inevitably the design process gave birth to a whole world of other swimwear designs that I've sketched up.  For what, I'm not sure, maybe simply for the love of swimwear!

A few thoughts

Here's a lil project I worked on.  Didn't have a chance to make something tangible this week, but here are a few thoughts down on paper.

A quickie

I thought of what I want to do.  So I did a quick sketch to figure it out and not forget it!

Goal:

- no side seams

- center front inverted box pleat (to create pant-leg illusion)

- "hip" seams with shirring

Oh what did I get myself into.

Procrastination

I think I get in the way of myself.

I've got what I need.  Plenty of ideas, images from magazines, websites...I'm always collecting them.  Dare I use the H(oarder) word?  I hold onto things, like an itty bitty magazine tear of that shirt, see above left, or the boudoir photoshoot of Miranda Kerr, the one from GQ (did I just embarrass myself?).  All useless until one day it inspires greatness!

I also need a better way to organize it all - suggestions welcome.

P.S. Did you watch the Super Bowl (halftime show)?  Did you see Fergie's talons?  Do we like?
