A fancy farewell

Our movers came and left in a flash!  The apartment was empty before I was ready to say "au revoir" to my belongings.

We even had time to attend a launch event for VFA - Venture for America - before heading out to Costa Rica.  If you're in a nerdy mood or interested in entrepreneurship, check them out.  And here's a good introductory article by Inc.

We were in the IAC building designed by Frank Gehry.  It's unlike anything I've ever seen!  Looks something like this:

Boat night

Me and the ladies went for a little boat cruise last night and with the weather easing up, I figured I could forgo the usual winter jacket (finally!).  We couldn't help but dress a tad for the occasion, nautical stripes, sails boats, seagulls and all...

Swaddle me

The last post got me all thinking about an unfinished project.  I would not be exaggerating if I said it's been years!  I was obsessed with all things cocoon-like but with it unfinished it really looks anything but.

1) I mistakenly sewed the welt pocket inside out - and clearly just gave up :)

2) The lining was unfinished - I remember because the loosely-woven blanket-like fabric itself had started to grow - and did not fit the lining that was cut for it

3) Therefore the hem was also left unfinished due to the fact that it was now 2" longer than the lining

Hmph!

There were too many frustrations and so many distractions, I just left it...until now!  Pictures due in the morning.
